Frequently asked questions
From actual business owners
You don’t get a better website in a rush.
We advise all our clients to ask questions before starting a new website project.
We’ve included a list of questions that we often get asked about projects below.
Will this get expensive?
For small sites, you pay £149 + VAT per month. If you want to add more pages, more functions, or spend more time on the design, this is charged extra.
Am I locked into the contract?
The contract is for 12 months – this is the minimum period of time you’ll need to pay the fee. After twelve months, the site is yours – you can move hosting, stop support or cancel the contract, whatever works best for you.
I have a bigger budget, can you still work with me?
The team that delivers Webworthy sites builds enterprise-level websites with budgets ranging from £ 10K to £20K. If you have a significantly larger budget, we can provide a fully bespoke proposal against a project brief or RFP.
How long does this take?
We book projects into the studio in sprints – once all the content is ready (lifted from your current site), the entire process takes no more than four weeks, often quicker.
How do I pay?
We’ll send you a link to set up the payments via a payment card; you can also set up a Direct Debit if you prefer. For both options, you will be sent an invoice.
Can I cancel?
This is an initial 12-month contract to cover the work. You cannot cancel the payment during the first 12 months, as it covers the cost of creating your site. After twelve months, you can cancel at any time.
Will the site look ‘cheap’?
No, it will look professional and appropriate for your business. It’s best to keep the design clean and simple, as this converts more visitors into paying clients.
I am very busy: will I have time for this?
We won’t need much of your time – we take the project lead and tell you the best way to proceed with your site as we’re the experts.
How do I pay for enhancements?
If you want to have more pages or more functions, we provide a cost for doing the additional work and spread that across your 12 monthly payments for the site.
Do I need to understand the technical aspects?
No – once your site is built, updating the content and adding new pages is as easy as using Word. You’ll also have 20 minutes of support each month if you need help.
Will Webworthy always be around to help?
We’re an established business with a team of 16 staff, so we’re always on hand to help, and as a solid, established business, we’re not going anywhere.
Do I own the website?
After the initial 12-month contract, the site is yours to do with as you wish: it’s your site, not ours.
What happens after the 12-month term?
You can switch to hosting only, keep your support and hosting or move your site to your own servers – it’s flexible – after the initial 12 months, any additional agreements are simple rolling monthly contracts.
Can I update the site myself?
Yes, it’s really easy to edit pages, duplicate pages and publish blogs – you’ll be able to edit everything from your site logo to your phone number yourself.
Can I add more pages to the site?
Yes – you can add as many additional pages yourself, usually by cloning a current page and then editing the content – That’s how we generally recommend doing it.
Why is this different to WIX or Squarespace?
This is WordPress; the best, fastest and most optimised website platform on the planet. You get more control over your site, your content, the design, and the speed, and once it’s done, you own it.
What if I don't like the design?
Your site should not be over-designed – this is one of the main issues that business owners often deliberate too much on – your audience wants the site to look professional and appropriate, and they make a decision about design in 300 milliseconds, so while we’ll ensure the design is correct, we encourage our clients not to overthink design decisions.
How does the design process work?
We design simple sites, as these are the most effective – The design process takes your logo and existing branding to create a unique website design for your audience. If you have complex design requirements or feel it will take a long time, we can add extra time to the project for a small fee.
Are there any guarantees?
We guarantee that your site will look better, work faster, rank better, be easier to edit, and last longer. As we don’t control your pricing, the niche you are targeting or your offer, we can’t guarantee it will get you more new business – that’s down to you.
What's wrong with my current site?
If you’re reading this, you already know something is not right with your current website – it might be a lack of traffic, slow speed or no conversions – something is holding it back, and we can help you fix what is. If you’d like an objective opinion on your current site, we can audit it before we proceed.
How do I know my website is working?
We monitor all our sites for uptime, and our hosting guarantees 99.5% uptime. If you are concerned about downtime, we can add additional monitoring to keep an eye on it 24/7.
Do I need to have all my content ready?
There is a good chance that what you already have is good enough once we’ve had a look at it – the best option is to use your current content as-is and then edit it how you see fit once the new site is ready.
Can you use content from my current site?
Yes – we generally prefer to do this – if we think you need some additional content, we will suggest things to add to your site – these are usually things like testimonials and FAQs if you do not already have them. You no longer need masses of content to rank well and convert – you just need the right content.
Can you help with logos and branding?
We can, but that’s a separate project. We work on new logos and brands, but more often, we complete small projects just to improve what you already have – there’s equity in your current logo, no matter what it looks like, so this is important to retain.
What happens when my business grows and I need more from the website?
No problem – as your site will be built bespoke for your business, we can add any future functionality that you need without having to start again – this might include a shop, login areas for clients or a member section – whatever you need, we can build it.
Do you use Artificial Intelligence?
Yes, but we use it intelligently. Our sites are built by our developers, not AI, and we do not recommend using AI to write content. However, AI is very useful for planning site and page structure, so we use it as a tool rather than a solution.
I have used AI to build a prototype site – can you work witih that?
We certainly can – we can take any AI-generated prototype and turn it into a professionally built WordPress site – that includes the design and functionality.
Do you host email accounts?
No, our hosting is for websites only, so we recommend using a professional email service such as Google Workspace or Office 365 for your email.- can help you set these up if required.
I have strong ideas for my site design, can you work with those?
We can work with your own ideas, produce designs inspired by other sites you like, or work from AI-generated visuals. We encourage clients to be mindful of over-designing websites, so we advise where required.
Why a monthly payment? Can I pay upfront?
Monthly payments help micro-businesses and sole traders spread the cost of their websites, but you are welcome to pay upfront if you wish – we accept credit and debit cards.
I already have hosting.
No problem, we can move your new site to your own hosting account if you want to retain it. Before we do so, we will check your current hosting to ensure that it’s up to speed for your new site.
What makes Webworthy different?
We’re backed by an agency, not freelancers or rookie startups. Our team have been building enterprise-level WordPress sites for over 20 years. We launched Webworthy because we want small businesses to have affordable, better websites.
Can you just improve my current website?
That depends on how it’s built, the platform it’s on, and what’s wrong with it. It can often take longer to fix a poorly built website than to build a professional new one.
What is a WordPress theme?
A WordPress theme is the core of your website’s functions and code. WordPress is the content management system that uses your theme to style and run the site. There are many types of WordPress themes: free, premium, and bespoke.- Use the latter so we can build exactly what you need.
Do you do SEO?
We do, and we now call it Search Everywhere Optimisation, as your new site needs to both rank in search results and get cited in answer engines like Claud and ChatGPT. Expectations need to be managed when working on SEO – it’s a process that takes more time than it does work to get right.
Can you recreate my WIX or Squarespace site in WordPress?
Yes, we do this a lot – if you’re broadly happy with your site, but want it on WordPress instead of a non-owned platform like WIX or Squarespace, we can rebuild it, improve it where necessary, and get the new site working harder.
