Webworthy Platform.
What it is, how it works, what you get and what it costs.
All Webworthy sites are built on the WordPress CMS, making them easy to manage.
If you don’t know WordPress, it’s a content management system (CMS) used by over 35% of all websites on the Internet.
This makes it an incredibly popular and well-supported CMS that’s famously easy to install, use and update.
Our platform is a bespoke theme for WordPress that uses the Gutenberg Editor to make managing your sites’ content a no-code, drag-and-drop experience.
What is a WordPress theme?
WordPress separates the content of your site from the functions and the design.
A WordPress theme contains all the website’s code: templates, code, CSS, and PHP files that come together to form a working website.
The WordPress theme is essentially your website’s core and can affect its speed, functionality, content management, SEO and site speed.
WordPress themes can be incredibly simple or very complex, depending on what you use.
The Webworthy theme.
Out theme is bespoke built and very lightweight.
It’s been pre-optimised for technical SEO and is designed to create a scalable platform for any size website.
It’s built using core WordPress code and custom fields to allow non-technical editors to easily manage content.
The theme has minimal code and is built so any WordPress developer can view the code and understand the site.
It’s designed to create a future-proofed foundation for your website.
We use the same theme for Webworthy sites as we do for our larger clients.
Our theme is fully optimised and fast. It’s designed to load the minimum code required to render the page, so search engines like it and you can be sure your SEO efforts are rewarded.
We bring the experience of working with large corporate brands to your project.
We’ve designed and developed mission-critical websites for large brands, so we know how important build-quality is; all our experience is wrapped up in our theme framework so you get the benefits.
Up front and subscription option.
Upfront charges.
£699
These cover the setup, our costs, our theme fee, and up to 20 pages (you can add more) of content using our standard blocks (all of which will be branded to your small business or organisation. All charges are plus VAT.
Subscription.
£149
This is a monthly fee for the site and includes:
- Monthly theme, plugin and WordPress updates
- Hosting (3GB storage) & SSL certificate
- Subscription fees start when the site goes live
Subscription only option.
Subscription only.
£199
If you would prefer not to have the upfront charge, you can simply go on a subscription only package.
Note that this charge starts on the day we start the project.
How do charges work?
By reducing the upfront fee and moving charging to a subscription-based model, our websites are affordable for small charities and NFPs with tighter budgets.
The monthly subscription charge covers the continued use of the site, hosting, SSL certificates and monthly updates to WordPress and plugins.
It’s a simple and easy-to-use platform that allows your business to get a best-in-class WordPress site in an affordable way.
If you do need more, you can always customise your package.
Plugins included.
WordPress has thousands of free plugins that add functions to your website, but the best ones are often licensed premium and require an additional budget.
The premium plugins we use on our websites are included in the monthly fees. These include Gravity Forms, Advanced Custom Fields, WP Rocket, and 301 Redirects Pro. These alone would cost over $200 per year.
Add to that a monthly SEM Rush full audit report, and you are already saving over $2000 per year.
We use the same theme for Webworthy sites as we do for our larger clients.
We recently helped The Victorian Society rebrand and completely rethink their website to make it easy to manage and more effective.
Toast have been the very best partner. They have been patient and supremely helpful. Their team have responded to our brief and given us over and above what we asked so we can continue campaigning for Victorian and Edwardian buildings and structures as we have done since 1958.

Sounds too simple?
Don’t be fooled by the simple approach. Your site will be 100% awesome and serve you for years.
Our experience designing and building complex bespoke WordPress sites means we can deliver smaller sites efficiently and effectively.
Remember that WordPress is famously simple; the vast majority of websites are over-engineered, over-thought and over-designed.
Expectations.
You get a professionally built WordPress site using our block library, which covers most site content.
If you need more blocks, custom development work, WooCommerce, or other additions, they are charged as extras.
The design stages include limited customisation of the existing block library to include your brand colours, fonts, and other elements. We can provide a cost for a more bespoke approach to the design.
We also build complex WordPress sites.
We’ve got that covered if you need something far more complex. This sort of project is outside the scope of a Webworthy site, but we can provide a full proposal for any sort of WordPress site.
Platfom FAQs
What do you get?
A bespoke-built WordPress site with up to 20 pages of content hosted on super-fast WP Engine Servers and optimised for speed and ease of use.
How much will it cost?
Charges will be either the upfront and subscription option or the rolling subscription model; the choice is yours.
Do you have to keep paying the subscription?
Yes, just like you do for your mobile phone or your broadband. The subscription charges cover the overall cost of the site, hosting, and 40 minutes of support time per month which includes WordPress updates.
What if want to cancel?
The subscription is for 24 months. After that, if you want to cancel the subscription and move your site elsewhere, you can. You just need to let us know.
Why is our product better than, say, Squarespace?
Packages like Squarespace are pile-it-high-sell-it-cheap services; our service is a premium website designed for people who know they need a better website than Squarespace or Webflow can provide but have an issue with upfront costs.
Where are we based?
Our studio is in Oxfordshire. All our staff are full- or part-time employed and we do everything in-house. You are welcome to come and visit.
Do you need a more bespoke approach?
We’re an experienced WordPress agency; if you need a completely bespoke website that’s designed and built from the ground up, we can do that, and we can send you a full proposal.
Are freelancers cheaper?
Some are, some are not. There are some amazing freelancers out there, but it’s just one person, we’re a team of 17. The best freelancers are not cheap, and they are always busy on other projects.
